Medical Internship

Medical students in Zhengzhou University can have their internships in ZZU's 9 affiliated hospitals, which are all top hospitals in China. Among nine affiliated hospitals, the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University is one of the major health care hubs and provides vital medical and health facilities for the whole country. As the largest Level-3/Grade-A hospital in China, it integrates medical treatment, prevention, health care and recuperation, along with teaching and research. It has the distinctions of being a National Baby Friendly Hospital, and being recognized as among the best in China. Currently, the hospital has two precincts, the old one and a new one in the Zhengdong New District. It presently covers an area of 158,000 m2 for 93 clinical departments, 136 wards and 8,000 beds; it handles over 4.2 million ambulatory care visits and over 300,000 inpatient admissions, including 160,000 surgical operations. A further development will cover an area of 230,000 m2 with 3,000 beds, now under construction. The hospital is also extremely well-equipped. Its facilities include an advanced CT Hybrid Operation Room, an MRI Hybrid Operation Room and a DSA Hybrid Operation Room, all of the highest international standards.

In the 6th year of MBBS program, students shall do their internship in China or outside China.

Students could do their internships in the 9 affiliated hospitals. Although there is no limit to students Chinese level when conducting internship in China, students shall be able to communicate with patients simply.

Students can do internship in with famous domestic hospitals in Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Xi'an, etc. since ZZU has cooperation and exchange agreement with them.

Also, students could conduct internship in medical institutes in U.S., Germany, Japan, Canada, U.K., Swede, Norwegian, Denmark, Austria, Holland, etc.
