1.Introduction to the Program
Zhengzhou University (ZZU) is the biggest university in term of student number. As a key university in China, ZZU has enlisted in the project of National World First-class Universities since September of 2017. With full facility of four campuses, Zhengzhou University has at present 47,000 full-time undergraduates, 24,000 postgraduates and more than 2,700 international students from more than 116 countries and regions. Now ZZU is on its way to a comprehensive & research-oriented university. Zhengzhou University has established 12 major disciplines: science, engineering, medicine, literature, history, philosophy, law, economics, management science, pedagogy, agriculture, and arts. Among which, chemistry, clinical medicine, material science and engineering are "World First Class Disciplines". With the rapid development in recent years, ZZU performs well in various international university rankings. As the largest University in China, Zhengzhou University Zhengzhou provides plenty of scholarship to sponsor hundreds of excellent international applicants with full scholarship to pursue their degree in Zhengzhou University each year. This is the only Chinese university with so many scholarship seats. All excellent students are welcome to study in ZZU. The medical education of ZZU started from 1928 and the clinical medicine is one the National World – Class disciplines. With its 12 affiliated hospitals, ZZU has 40 national key clinical specialties, 145 provincial clinical specialties, 36,000 patient beds and the outpatient number reach 2 million. Zhengzhou University has 2 national drug clinical research bases and therefore was listed as the national doctor training university. In 2017 Study in China — The First Clinical Thinking and Skills Competition for International Medical Students in China, ZZU won the First Prize Title in General, and “the Excellent Team Award”, “the Best Team Cooperation Award”, “the Excellent Award for Internal Medicine” and “the Excellent Award for Pediatric Skills”.
Zhengzhou University Pre-Medicine Program (in English) offers bridge courses connecting students from high school to the university. The program enables international students to improve their language proficiency to satisfy the requirement of EMI bachelor programs, consolidate their foundation in natural science and medical propaedeutic, which will also facilitate the improvement of academic and professional English, as well as day-to-day Chinese language skills. It also lays a strong foundation for international students enabling them a smooth transition from high school to the MBBS, BDS, or Pharmacy program.
2.Target Students
a) Students whose scores do
not meet the entry requirements of the bachelor programs;
b) Students who plan to study preparatory courses in medicine and pharmacy.
3.Main Courses
The program consists of four modules: basic learning module, English learning module, medical contact module and daily Chinese module respectively.
a) Daily Chinese Module will enhance the international students’ knowledge in listening and speaking Chinese language which will help them to master basic communicative skills and provide convenienceto live in China.
b) English Learning Module there are three parts in this module, General English, Academic English, and Medical English. General English allowsthe international students to improve their English proficiency to satisfy the language requirements of EMI Bachelor program. After this program, students are expected to reach IELTS 6.0.Academic English entails training students to use language appropriately for study, particularly in developing students’ academic writing and reading skills in terms of grammatical accuracy, cohesion, coherence and etc. Medical English focuses instruction on language skills required to perform in an English-speaking medical context generally encountered in a university and hospital settings, especially the medical terminology such as medical prefixes, suffixes, combining forms and etc.
c) Basic Learning Module allows the international students to evaluate their knowledge and reinforced understanding of core science subjects like mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and basic medicine.
d) Medical Preparatory Module includes a variety of workshops, group discussions and training which would enrich the aspiring student to possess up knowledge of studying in medical. Students will also get a chance to visit the medical laboratories and the university hospitals which would enable them to analyze the challenges they face during their study.

8.Course Assessment
Final examinations will be held during July 2025. The assessment panel will make a detailed evaluation on the test scores and declare the results based on which the student will get an entry tothe MBBS, BDS, or Pharmacy program at Zhengzhou University.
9. Certificate Award
a).Certificate awarded upon
successful completion of the program and passing all exams;
b).Study certificate
issued upon completion of this program but not passing all exams;
c). No certificate will
be issued if failing to take exams.

less than 10-15% of the scores required by the entry requirements of the
medical undergraduate programs in Zhengzhou University. Please contact the
